Fairmount Line resumes service.
November 3, 1979
Now operated by the MBTA, the line runs South Station to Hyde Park. The only commuter rail line entirely in Boston, it is sometimes called the Indigo Line, since it provide mass transit for what is largely a minority community. Stops are added at Morton Street and Uphams Corner, at Talbot Avenue in 2012,* and at Four Corners/Geneva and Newmarket in 2013,* and at Blue Hill Avenue in 2019.*
